As a schoolboy, Fortuin represented Boland at the age-group level.
Fortuin moves into the senior ranks after making his mark for Maties in the FNB Varsity Cup.
Reinhardt has the unique distinction of representing the University of Stellenbosch Maties in the Varsity Cup in rugby and cricket (2017).
Fortuin spent a part of his childhood in Kimberley but matriculated from Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch.
Fortuin made his Toyota Cheetah debut as a replacement for the Springbok Frans Steyn for the Toyota Cheetahs on 14 November 2020 in Round 6 of Super Rugby Unlocked against the Stormers in Cape Town. Reinhardt played in two matches in this competition.
He represented the Toyota Cheetahs in Super Rugby Unlocked (2), Currie Cup matches (24) and Preliminaries (4) mainly as an impact player from the bench. He played in ten of the Currie Cup games in 2022, and a thigh injury prevented him from playing in all 13 games.
He is part of the 2023 Currie Cup winner's squad.
