Pieter George Cronjé is a flanker.

Cronjé played for Grey College, Free State and SA Schools before heading to France, where he represented Clermont Ferrand. He was arguably the best loose forward at that level in 2019. George captained the SA Schools side against England U.18. He led the SA U.20 team against Uruguay, Argentina and Georgia in 2021.

He joined the Toyota Cheetahs on 1 July 2020. Cronjé made his debut for the Cheetahs in Round 1 of the 2020 Currie Cup Premier Division on 5 December 2020 at the age of 19 years 160 days against the Blue Bulls in Pretoria, followed by clashes against the Sharks, Western Province and Griquas.

One of Cronje's biggest passions off the field is farming, and he admits it is a career he would like to pursue later in his life.

The loose forward has been on the sidelines since 10 March 2021 due to an injury. On 11 June 2022, in the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, in a Currie Cup match against the Blue Bulls, he replaced Rynier Bernardo in the 62nd minute. In the Cheetahs' Currie Cup semi-final against the Pumas on 18 June 2022, he substituted Jeandré Rudolph (eighth man) in the match.

Cronjé has already played eight matches for the Toyota Cheetahs.
